Overview
Description
Launched in London in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis, Rolex moved to Geneva in 1919 and introduced the first chronometer‑certified wristwatch (1910), waterproof Oyster case (1926) and Perpetual rotor (1931). Today the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation–owned firm turns out about a million COSC‑certified watches a year—Submariner, GMT‑Master II, Datejust, Day‑Date—backed by vertically integrated foundries, case makers and research labs.
