Founded in Dallas by Tom Kartsotis in 1984, Fossil mass‑produces fashion watches and holds licences for Michael Kors, Diesel and more. It bought Misfit (2015) to create hybrid and Wear OS smartwatches—now up to Gen 6—and in 2025 renewed its Kors licence through 2027, signalling confidence despite a crowded wearable market.
